Entre Museus
The Museum of Tomorrow and the ENGIE Foundation present Entre Museus, a project of social and cultural mobilization. It unfolds in a series of actions designed especially for students and teachers of schools and social organizations of the port region of Rio, our neighbors.
One of our challenges is to offer more democratic access to the residents of our neighborhood, especially the children and young people of the port region, contributing to the expansion of their knowledge and potential. Our main goal is to capacitate and include the local people in cultural fruition, encouraging them to enter the worlds of science, arts and culture and thus build and expand paths to full citizenship. And also, to accompany and participate in the social development of the region, inviting residents to become the protagonists of these actions and to recognize themselves as transforming agents of their community.
The project includes a program of mediated visits to the Museum of Tomorrow, together with more than 20 Museums in the city and its surroundings. In addition to the visits, the project carries out complementary activities aimed at strengthening the ties between schools, museums and local cultural spaces, and more than anything, presents the city and its history from each of these paths.
These activities are begin with the organization of meetings between educators of Museums, where they exchange ideas and set up the contents of the visits; the facilitation of access to the contents of the Museums for schools, with periodic visits and exchange of information; the collective construction of a large seminar in partnership with the municipality, through the Municipal Department of Education, the Brazilian Institute of Museums - IBRAM and partner museums, presenting the Museums as potent educational tools, aimed at teachers and people involved with education. And also, the holding of a great Museums and schools fair, presenting to the general public the exchange of experiences throughout the process.
